THE
CREW

JONATHAN BIRD
Host, Cinematographer, editor, writer
jonathan <at>
blueworldTV <dot> com
(no link to discourage
spam)
Emmy Award-winning cinematographer and producer,
Jonathan is president of the non-profit
organization Oceanic
Research Group as well as a widely published
author, award-winning assignment cinematographer,
photographer and speaker. Jonathan's
web site features pictures and other
information about his work in the underwater world.
Incidentally, everyone hates this picture so we're
working on getting a new one.

CHRISTINE BIRD
Executive Producer
Although she is a physician by training,
Christine is an avid scuba diver and photographer.
After meeting Jonathan, Christine began to assist
with films for Oceanic Research Group and Jonathan
Bird Productions, working as Production Assistant,
Production Manager and Reseacher on several films.
She was the Production Manager for Sharks: Deep
Trouble for National Geographic Channel. As the
Executive Producer of Jonathan Bird's Blue
World, Christine is in charge of the series
funding.

TIM GEERS
Cinematographer, Director
tgeers <at>
blueworldTV <dot> com
Tim is an Emmy Award-winning
cinematographer/field producer and a news
videographer for WCVB-TV in Boston (the ABC
affiliate). An avid diver and underwater cameraman,
Tim brings his exceptional attention to detail to
the television screen for Jonathan Bird's Blue
World as both a cameraman and director. You
will frequently hear him telling Jonathan "That was
terrible--you can do better. One more time with
feeling!" All it takes to get a good on-camera
performance out of Jonathan is Tim telling him to
do it over again 27 times.

KERRY HURD
Cinematographer, editor
kerry <at>
blueworldTV <dot> com
Kerry was abducted into the production crew when
he joined Jonathan on a trip to Guadalupe and got
stuck shooting 2nd unit camera for the segment from
the other shark cage. Things got worse when he came
back and volunteered to edit the segment. As you
will see in the 5th segment (Swimming with
Jaws) he did a fine job editing, so he has been
convinced to remain with the production crew. For
the time being at least, all segments are either
edited by Kerry or Jonathan.

LINDA HURD
Den mother
brainstorm
<at> blueworldTV <dot> com
Linda Hurd has crossed over from volunteering
for Oceanic
Research Group activities to being a
full-fledged production roadie. Typically she ends
up having to move large quantities of
gear/merchandise, rinse gear/camera equipment and
generally do whatever everyone else forgets to do.
Her assistance at both the dive platform and at
Jonathan's booksignings has been invaluable. We
refer to her as the "den mother" of the production
company but she also excels at brainstorming.

GREG "GATOR" BRUNSHIDLE
Cinematographer
With a degree in film from Columbia College,
Gator is one of the few of us actually trained for
this sort of thing. He has the unfortunate job of
trying to get all the shots of Jonathan filming
underwater and all the shots Jonathan misses.
